Bill White is the current United States Ambassador to Belgium, having been confirmed, by the US Senate on 7 October 2025. He is a prominent ally of President Donald Trump and arrived in Brussels to take up his post on 6 November 2025.
Belgium is a Democratic constitutional monarchy. Our Constitution highly values freedom of speech and freedom of the press and our Constitution completely separates state and church!
Since mid-February 2026, Ambassador White has been at the centre of a significant diplomatic row with the Belgian government:
- Antisemitism Allegations: White sparked backlash by describing a Belgian judicial investigation into three Jewish ritual circumcisers (mohels) in Antwerp as “ridiculous and anti-Semitic”. Three prominent mohels in Antwerp are suspected of performing circumcisers on newborn infants without certified medical training or a doctor present.The investigation was triggered by a complaint from within the Jewish community itself, specifically from a local rabbi who alleged the use of unsafe practices.
- Summoned by Foreign Ministry: Following these comments, he was summoned by Belgium’s Foreign Minestry on 17 February 2026, where officials reminded him of the Vienna Convention and the importance of non-interference in national judicial systems! Following were some harsh, but fair, statements from the Belgian political world, and there were comparisons between the ambassador’s “working methods” and those of his president!
- Feud with Belgian Ministers: He has publicly attacked Federal Health Minister Frank Vandenbroucke, calling him “very rude” and referencing past corruption scandals, of which the Minister was completely acquitted. White called the Minister rude because he refused a “selfie”!
- Travel Ban: On 20 February 2026, White declared that Flemish socialist leader Conner Rousseau is banned from entering the USA after a video Rousseau posted on Instagram. In the video, Rousseau compared the actions of the U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) and President Donald Trump to the rise of Adolf Hitler and Nazi policies in the 1930s. White then mentioned the sexual harassment charges, of which Rousseau, a ruling party leader, was fully acquitted, as they were false accusations shortly after he came out as gay, somewhat forcedly
- Deleted posts: series of aggressive social media posts by White, including one calling on Belgium to drop the “ridiculous and antisemitic” prosecution of three Jewish circumcisers; The post was deleted after causing a significant diplomatic rift.
Minister Vandenbroucke described the comments as “unacceptable” and stated that White had crossed “several red lines”.

More deleted posts: White posted that the “convicted minister and party leader” should keep their mouths shut (knowing that both had been acquitted!).
- Context: This incident followed a former incident. During his nomination for the ambassador role, it was revealed he had reposted content from a Belgian far-right activist politician (former now!), convicted of Holocaust denial and racism, Dries Van Langenhove.
- Prime Minister’s reaction: Belgian Prime Minister Bart De Wever censured White’s actions on 23 February 2026, stating it is not the ambassador’s job to disrupt national politics
- Our (We, Belgians) reaction: Throw that Trump idiot out!!!
