Around a dozen vehicles had their tyres punctured on 23 February due to glass and screws on the pavement in the northern area of Coimbra, a source from the GNR Territorial Command confirmed to the Lusa news agency.

According to the same source, this incident was recorded around 11 am, between the toll booths (of A1 and A14) and the IC2 junction in Coimbra Norte, without any suspicions yet as to what may have happened.

A GNR patrol was mobilised to the site, and the road was cleaned.

According to Notícias de Coimbra, the origin of the screws may be related to material falling from a vehicle. The same news outlet reveals that the vehicle responsible has already been identified by the authorities.
