Norway, which has welcomed over 100,000 Ukrainians, has recently seen an increasing flow of young men from Ukraine and maintains a close dialogue with Kyiv on this issue.
The statement was made by Norway’s Prime Minister Jonas Gahr Støre during a joint press conference with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky in Kyiv.
“I think more than 100,000 people from Ukraine reside in Norway. They impress us. They contribute to our economy, and I hope that one day they will be able to say that they can return to Ukraine and make their contribution to the further development of Ukraine,” he said.
“The process of mobilization and defense of Ukraine is Ukraine’s business, not something we are involved in. Therefore we want to have a stable basis for people who come to Norway, and that is how we operate, while also maintaining close ties with our Ukrainian partners on this matter”

In Kyiv, the sides also agreed to develop strategic partnership in areas of mutually beneficial cooperation, underscoring the active level of interaction between Norway and Ukraine.
Thus, Norway continues to support Ukraine through stable formats of cooperation and dialogue with Ukrainian leadership, preserving an important link with the Ukrainian citizenship residing in Norway.
