CHILTON COUNTY, Ala. (WBRC) – The Chilton County Sheriff’s Office was able to buy some life-saving equipment thanks to a grant funded through the Alabama Sheriffs Association.
The grant, which utilizes funding from the opioid settlement, allows the department to equip patrol deputies with AEDs (Automated External Defibrillators).
The department was also able to buy a Defibtech ARM XR CPR device—an advanced automated chest compression machine that provides consistent, high-quality cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) during medical emergencies. The equipment greatly enhances the ability to deliver critical care while awaiting EMS or helping on a scene.
Drew Babyak with Rescuer supplied the equipment.
“This funding allows us to better equip our deputies with critical, life-saving tools. Having AEDs in our patrol units and the Defibtech ARM XR CPR device available greatly increases our ability to respond effectively in medical emergencies. We are thankful to the Alabama Sheriffs Association and everyone involved in making this possible. Our priority is, and always will be, the safety and well-being of the citizens of Chilton County.”
