Fourteen couples from Moldova will register their marriage today, on Dragobete, according to data made public by the Public Services Agency (ASP). The event takes place in the context of the traditional holiday dedicated to love, annually marked on this day.

Since the beginning of 2026, a total of 1,388 marriages have been registered nationwide.

According to ASP, age is not an obstacle to formalizing relationships. In the last year, marriages have been registered for grooms aged 81 and 84. At the same time, there were also two couples in which both spouses were 16 years old, under the conditions provided by the law.

The data also shows that most men choose to marry between the ages of 24 and 30, while women predominantly opt for the 21–25 age range.

Dragobete, celebrated on February 24, is considered in Romanian popular tradition as the day of love and the beginning of spring, being associated with symbolic engagements and promises between lovers.

In recent years, more and more couples have chosen this date to formalize their relationship. Video: https://www.facebook.com/reel/788056473765430/
