Key Focus Areas of Cooperation

The head of the Ukrainian government emphasized that the new aid package continues the partnership with Norway, which among other things has made significant contributions under the PURL initiative, allowing us to substantially strengthen our air defense.

During today’s meeting, the major emphasis was placed on energy security.

«Norway’s assistance in gas imports and contributions to the Energy Support Fund and grants is extremely important. Norway provides distributed-generation equipment that will operate at the facilities of the Naftogaz Group. We discussed prospective investment projects that could be supported by Norfund instruments»

– Yulia Sviridenko

As part of the cooperation, we also discussed strengthening energy resilience and further expanding technical cooperation.

It is also known that at the beginning of January, Ukraine’s Prime Minister Yulia Sviridenko met with Norway’s Foreign Minister Espen Barth Eide, during which she handed over an agreed list of equipment needed for repairs after shelling and further strengthening energy resilience.
