The men’s hockey semifinals at the 2026 Milano Cortina Winter Olympics are set.
After a thrilling quarterfinal round in which three games went into overtime, the top four seeds are all left standing: Canada, United States, Slovakia and Finland.
Quinn Hughes was the hero for USA on Wednesday; his game-winning goal 3:27 into overtime secured the final spot in the semifinals for Americans with a 2-1 win over Sweden. Dylan Larkin’s second-period goal looked like it was going to be enough, but Mika Zibanejad scored the equalizer for the Swedes in the final two minutes of regulation to force sudden death.
Finland and Canada each won their respective overtime games while Slovakia, USA’s opponent in the semifinals, cruised through their quarterfinal matchup by blowing out Germany 6-2.
