The Belarusian leader emphasised that it is vital for Belarus and Russia to develop their allied, strategic partnership, first of all, at the Western borders, given the international situation and escalating tensions, “Objectively, the geopolitical climate requires us to be ready to act together in response to any challenges. We have put into motion the Treaty on Security Guarantees within the Union State. The Oreshnik missile systems entered active service in Belarus in December. We are working side by side in foreign policy. Today’s signing of the Directive on Mutual Support and Co-operation in International Law will mark another important milestone in protecting our common interests, the sanctity of international law and its institutions.”
