After the test runs of the ED250-001, which took place in the Czech Republic in October 2025, the Polish “Pendolino” will be deployed on Praha – Bohumín SuperCity trains from 9 March to 17 June 2026. This will be a test operation with passengers, during which the Class ED250 unit is to run a total of 60,000 km on the ČD network. This will be done in cooperation with ČD and PKP Intercity; depending on the situation, passengers will most often encounter the Polish “Pendolino” on SC 511 Praha hl. n. (15.31 h) – Bohumín (18.54 h) and SC 516 Bohumín (4.58) – Praha hl. n. (8.28) services.
The test operation in regular passenger service will take place as part of the ongoing approval process for the Class ED250 for operation in the Czech Republic. It will be the first time that the “dziobak” (platypus) will be in regular service outside its homeland.
