Bulgaria is preparing to send electrical transformers and
other equipment to support the population of Ukraine, announced caretaker
Minister of Foreign Affairs Nadezhda Neynski after the meeting of the Foreign
Affairs Council. She described Russia’s attacks on Ukraine’s energy
infrastructure as genocide. “These are not measures against the army, but
against the population”, Nadezhda Neynski said. The minister added that
Europe’s efforts to achieve a lasting and just peace are serious and a matter
of European security.
Nadezhda Neynski also met NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte in Brussels to discuss the changing security
environment and maintaining transatlantic unity, the Foreign Ministry reported. The talks
included building the necessary capabilities for the Alliance’s defense in the
Black Sea region.
