According to Dr. Susan Hook of Samaritan Health and Wellness Center, the new location of the Pine Island office is now open. The island office continues to schedule patients every other Wednesday, but has relocated to the First Baptist Church of Pine Island at 5363 Avenue D, Bokeelia, FL 33922.

Hook started out over 40 years ago as a certified nursing assistant and has been a nurse practitioner for over two decades. Hook worked for Lee Physician group until October 2014, and then she began the new chapter of Samaritan Health and Wellness. Now, she continues to work with Pine Islanders who may find themselves uninsured or under insured.

In addition to the excitement of their new location, Hook is thrilled about everything she finds herself able to offer patients who otherwise might not have been able to receive medical health and wellness care.

“We have a wonderful grant for uninsured patients to get free labs. We wrote the grant in August of 2024 and then I totally forgot that we sent it until March of 2025 when I got an email telling me that we got the grant,” Hook said.

With the Cinotti Health Screening Grant administered through the state Department of Health, these labs are available for a good workup, she said, able to look at things such as blood sugar, cholesterol, kidney and liver function.

Currently, Samaritan Health and Wellness Center is offering a no charge visit to anyone with no insurance who comes out to the Pine Island location. The free labs obtained in this no charge visit will be accessible for consultation of any future visits, she said.

“Please give us a call at our Cape Coral office at (239) 360-7520. Let us know that you’d like to be seen at the First Baptist Church in Pine Island across from the school. Let us know that you read this in the Pine Island Eagle and the code for new patients for a free visit and free labs is GRANT,” Hook said.

The Pine Island Samaritan Health and Wellness Center at First Baptist Church office has hours available every other Wednesday, starting Feb. 18, 2026.

“The church has been very gracious to give us this new space. We’re very thankful for it and we look forward to people coming in for a free visit and free labs to get established with Samaritan,” Hook said.
