I am going to try to get a battery installed before the rebates end which I know might be a stretch but I was wondering what happens with your existing panel and inverter? Do you just add a second inverter and more panels? I want to ring around on Monday but would prefer to know what to expect.
This is what is currently installed. I'll likely go for a 30KW+ battery.

You can add an AC coupled battery and keep your current system. The only downside is that you’ll have 2 different apps. Or you can replace your inverter with a hybrid one and have a DC coupled battery.
330w panels are pretty outdated 🤔
Work mate recently got panels and 30kWh battery installed. They removed the old panels & inverter. Be sure to get diff quotes because I’ve heard some seriously overpriced quotes in the $15k-$30k for similar spec.
What sort of loads does your house pull.
Hot water size/type, aircons, pool pump, pool heater etc how many fridges etc?
A 6kw system with a 5kw inverter is on the small side.
No point in a big battery if the inverter can’t charge and discharge to meet house use.
Also it wasn’t clear if your looking at sorting out the battery separately to this quote?
If so you need to make sure it’s a hybrid inverter that is installed.
Edit: sorry re read and saw this is your current install. You can add a 2nd system, but honestly the panels are the cheapest part. You’ll likely be much better just having it pulled down and going again from scratch.
