Turkey has denied claims that it helped US and Israeli strikes on Iran, saying it did not allow its airspace, territory or bases to be used for military operations against Iran.

The Turkish Presidency’s Directorate of Communications said reports on social media alleging Turkish support for the attacks were “unfounded” and amounted to disinformation.

The denial came as US and Israel launched military strikes on Iran, escalating tensions in the region.

Turkey is a NATO member that borders Iran and hosts US forces at İncirlik Air Base, and it has publicly urged diplomacy as tensions rose in recent weeks.

Iran struck some of its neighbors that host US troops in retaliation.
