MADISON, Wis. — Saturday might have been the last day for Black History Month, but one Madison advocate says the reflection of history and culture should continue.
For the Record’s Elly Laliberte sat down with Dr. Richard Harris, whose book discusses local Black history.
He grew up in the ‘triangle’ neighborhood near Regent, South Park and Washington Avenue. He recalls the neighborhood being diverse.
The book is taught at LaFollette, Memorial, East and West high schools. Interested individuals can buy “Growing up Black in South Madison” on Barnes and Noble and Amazon.
