COLLEGE PARK, MD The University of Maryland Women’s Tennis team won its eighth match of the season against #56-ranked UPenn this afternoon, 6-1. This improves their record to 8-1 before the team embarks on a road trip to the West Coast next week.

In doubles, the Terps clinched the point with two sweeps from “The Polish Express” (Oliwia Orlinska and Magdalena Baniak) and the dynamic junior duo (Aida Eissa and Diya Challa).

In singles matches, the Terps picked up early points from Ema Kovacevic and Magdalena Baniak, giving them a 3-0 lead.

To clinch the victory, Emma Ghirardato battled in the second set, eventually winning her match 6-3, 7-5.

Oliwia Orlinska bounced back from being down 4-2 in the first set to winning both sets, including the second set 6-2!

A win from Tamari Gagoshidze and a loss from Lucia Donnelly made the final score 6-1.
