The President of Kosovo, Vjosa Osmani, held a meeting this Thursday with the U.S. Chargé d’Affaires in Kosovo, Anu Prattipati.

During the meeting, Osmani discussed her recent visit to the United States and her meetings with senior officials of the U.S. administration, as well as the latest developments in Kosovo and various issues of mutual interest.

The President once again expressed gratitude for the invitation from U.S. President Donald Trump for Kosovo to become a founding state of the Peace Board, as well as for the guarantees provided for peace and stability in the region. She reaffirmed Kosovo’s commitment to continued engagement and contribution.

She also highlighted the issues discussed during her meeting with U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio, emphasizing talks focused on advancing the Kosovo–U.S. strategic partnership, particularly in regional security, diplomacy, the economy, and defense.

Osmani reiterated the importance of the U.S. military presence and that of NATO allies as a key factor for stability, stressing that Kosovo’s membership in NATO remains a strategic objective for long-term peace.

She once again underlined the importance of continuing the bilateral strategic dialogue, noting that the partnership with the United States is a vital and existential interest for the Republic of Kosovo.

The meeting also addressed recent political developments in the country, with emphasis on completing constitutional processes and fully consolidating institutions in the interest of democratic stability, national development, and addressing citizens’ needs.

Speaking about recent developments, President Osmani highlighted the noticeable improvements in security and the rule of law in the northern part of the country, as reflected in the latest reports of the Kosovo Police on public order and law enforcement during 2025. According to these data, the situation in that part of the country is confirmed to be significantly calmer and safer for all citizens.
