In Belarus, real wages increased by 6.3 percent in January 2026, after the rise of 6.1 percent in December 2025, the Eurasian Development Bank’s weekly macro-review reads
“The main reason was an 8.8 percent increase in the base wage rate, which determines salaries in state-funded organisations. As a result, wages in the public sector increased by 9.8 percent in January 2026, up from 10.5 percent a month earlier,” the EDB experts said.
It was noted that that maintaining steady growth in real wages will be an important factor in strengthening consumer activity in the Belarusian economy in 2026.
