The Finnish Security and Intelligence Service (Supo) is seeking to hire people who are fluent in foreign languages as intelligence officers.
However, applicants are not required to have previous experience in the field, according to an agency press release on Tuesday.
It said Supo is seeking creative people with good interpersonal and teamwork skills, as well as an ability to withstand stressful situations.
“We are hoping to attract candidates of varied and diverse backgrounds. Being able to blend in is an asset in intelligence, but work experience in for example civil service is not a requirement for human intelligence officers,” Pekka Hiltunen, the head of Supo, said in the release.
Russian, Chinese fluency
The intelligence agency is primarily looking for people with fluent Russian or Chinese skills. However, people with skills in French, Spanish or a less common language may also be considered, it said
Interested applicants have until 27 March to submit their job application by post, according to the agency.
“Please print and attach the CV and motivation form available on the Supo website as well as a short video on a USB memory stick,” the release read.
“The Finnish Security and Intelligence Service may offer permanent posts in human intelligence to suitable candidates. Multiple posts are available, and they may be placed across Finland in localities with a Supo office.”
