In football, Gibraltar’s women had a tough introduction to international qualifiers this evening, losing 6-0 away to Kosovo
It was history in the making despite this – a proud moment as they lined up for their Fifa World Cup qualifier debut.
Many years in the making, there will be no easy games at this level, and Gibraltar went down to this early header from Kosovo’s Kaltrina Bikqaj
The visitors did find their feet after that and Tiffany Viagas played Joelle Gilbert on for a chance to equalise, the winger not quite able to make the right contact.
Kosovo scored another before the break and the home team pulled away in the second half, a very strong 45 minutes saw them score another 4 goals to bring the full time result to 6-0.
Gibraltar go again on Saturday where they’ll host Bulgaria at the Europa Point Stadium.
Kick off is at 7 and you’ll be able to catch post match coverage pitch side as from 6:45.
