As reported by the Embassy of Ukraine in the Republic of Austria on Facebook

One of the most prestigious cultural institutions in Europe – the Austrian National Library – has introduced a Ukrainian-language audio guide in its guided-tour system.

The launch of this new option underscores the growing role of the Ukrainian language in the European cultural space and the attention it receives from Ukrainian audiences abroad.

Visitors can now become acquainted with the library’s Baroque halls and historical collections in their native Ukrainian.

Such a format allows for a better understanding of the exhibits, listening to explanations, and immersion in the atmosphere of the institution in a language familiar to every Ukrainian-speaking guest.

How to access Ukrainian content

To activate the Ukrainian audio guide you need to purchase a special card at the library’s cashier. Then scan the QR code, after which you should choose Ukrainian in the menu of the corresponding app or device.

Invitation to Visit

The Embassy of Ukraine in Austria invites the Ukrainian community and tourists to visit Vienna’s main library and explore its halls and collections with the Ukrainian-language audio guide.

It is also known that the Leopold Museum in Vienna already has a Ukrainian-language audio guide, which indicates the expansion of language services in Austria’s cultural institutions.

The introduction of the Ukrainian-language audio guide at the Austrian National Library demonstrates the openness of European cultures to linguistic diversity and provides new opportunities for visitors.
