Kosovo’s Minister of Industry, Entrepreneurship and Trade, Mimoza Kusari-Lila, has signed a decision regarding oil prices, which increased immediately following developments in the Middle East .

She has signed the decision on the designation of petroleum products.

According to the decision, the maximum trade margin allowed for wholesale sales is up to 2 cents per liter.

Whereas, for retail sales it is up to 12 cents per liter, this decision will enter into force 1 day after publication in the Official Gazette.

Meanwhile, in Albania, following media news, the Competition Authority “wakes up”  and announces that it has begun monitoring the fuel market, both wholesale and retail.

According to the Competition Authority, all entities operating in this market are currently under monitoring.

Any price increase or fluctuation that does not proportionally reflect changes on international stock exchanges will be verified and, if unjustified, will be accompanied by measures according to the law.

The purpose of this process is to guarantee transparency, the orderly functioning of the market and the protection of consumers from unfair prices or uncompetitive practices.

In the event that price fluctuations are observed that exceed the extent of price changes on international stock exchanges, the Authority declares that, pursuant to Law No. 9121/2003, it will take the necessary measures according to its competences.
