    >The partner of a sitting Labour MP is among three people who have been arrested on suspicion of spying for China.
    >Security services are investigating foreign interference in UK democracy, including attempts to obtain information on policymaking and interfere with sovereign affairs.
    >A second person is understood to be the partner of a former Labour MP.
    >Detectives from counter-terrorism policing London, which is leading the investigation, arrested a 39-year-old man in London, a 68-year-old man in Powys, Wales, and a 43-year-old man in Pontyclun, Wales.

The BBC headline doesn’t do this justice. This sounds like a serious national security concern.
(Rather than just IP theft for example.)

Hey, it’s not like the government just approved a Chinese mega embassy in London that they were warned could be used for spying.

If these allegations are proven true Starmer needs to resign, having a Chinese spy in government is beyond the pale.

  4. I think we won’t know details until charges or statements are made. This is due to privacy case Cliff Richard won after he was investigated but not charged but press reported his name early on

Curious if this is part of anything with Mandleson investigation but we would need to wait

Why aren’t we arresting Farage and members of reform for effectively doing the same for the USA ?

The Chair of the the All-Party Parliamentary Group Against Antisemitism’s husband might be a Chinese agent.

Lots of places reporting it’s Joani Reid whose husband is a lobbyist.

Edit to add it’s not confirmed. Just the name that’s doing the rounds. It’s also now on her Wikipedia page.

Edit 2: I kind of hope it isn’t her as she has been campaigning hard to get the SNP on board with grooming gangs investigations. Also she has 2 kids who don’t deserve this.

  8. Not long after we decide to get closer to China…no shock at all for anyone with their eyes open.

Getting closer to China is as bad as how close Germany got with Russia.

I see that one of them has now been named. All i can say is i’m not surprised

  10. Oh well, now let’s get back to those Epstein files and all the people who made it possible

As I’ve said before, I’d say the reason Reform are being pushed as Russian agents so much is partly based in truth but partly an astroturf exercise by the Chinese so people don’t ask questions about foreign influence inside the party that are actually *in government*.

Handing back Chagos just so China can have it? Chinese super embassy? There should be big public investigations into these, people on Reddit should be asking loads of questions and yet political discourse here is more worried about if Farage has some russian connection. Worry about that later folks!

Here we go again. Accusations with no substance made purely to demonise a far away land that is currently not attacking and invading other countries, nor run by compromised paedophiles. So, just make up fictional things that we can accuse them of. Remember the accusations that China was spying on us in the parks? Haha!

  13. Obviously it’s yet to be confirmed on if he actually was feeding intelligence to the CCP but if he was- how did that even happen?

Is she lying to us? Was it him lying to her? Is it a blackmailing situation? Is it part of a bigger conspiracy? Allegedly one of the other suspects is the partner of a former Labour MP so take that as you will.

Such a bizarre scenario. Very interested to see how this plays out.

Meanwhile, all our data is available to American companies, supermarkets collect our biometric data without consent, we’re setting records for arresting people for social media comments and palantir has access to NHS records

If you don’t believe me about this last point:

Oh yeah and the kings brother and Peter Mandelson have been caught sharing confidential information with an international paedophile network
