Starting with a large lead (44 seconds), Slovenia’s Teja Pavec and Tia Malovrh logically won the team sprint at the Nordic combined junior world championships in Lillehammer (Norway) on Wednesday. The duo won by 32 seconds ahead of Japan(Yuzuka Fujiwara, Yuzuki Kainuma) and 55 ahead of Italy(Giada Delugan, Ludovica del Bianco).

“We felt good on the jump and fast on the skis. It’s incredible to say that we’re Junior World Champions,” Tia Malovrh told the FIS a few days after winning the overall continental cup.

France’s Marion Droz-Vincent and Romane Baud were battling it out for the podium, but they couldn’t resist the comeback of the Italians, who overtook them in the first relay.

Les Bleues let Austria(Clara Mentil, Katharina Gruber) off the hook for two thirds of the race, before securing the top 5 in the sprint ahead of Finland(Aino Kanervala, Anna Kerko) who were 45 seconds behind them. They finally finished 1 min 36.
