The Speaker of the Assembly of Kosovo, Albulena Haxhiu, has stated that she cannot call a session to elect the president without having at least two candidates.
She announced that so far only one candidacy has been accepted, the one proposed by the Vetëvendosje Movement, namely the name of Glauk Konjufca.
“In my capacity as Speaker of the Assembly, I have accepted only one candidacy for president, which was proposed by 30 signatory deputies. According to the documentation, some deputies from the VV Parliamentary Group and some deputies from the multiethnic group have nominated Glauk Konjufca,” Haxhiu declared at a press conference.
He also emphasized that the voting process cannot begin without meeting the basic condition of having at least two candidates supported by the necessary signatures.
