GEORGETOWN, S.C. — Tidelands Health has been recognized as one of the nation’s top places to work in health care for 2026, earning a spot on a national list compiled by Becker’s Healthcare.

Becker’s Healthcare named Tidelands Health among the Top 165 Places to Work in Health Care for the fourth consecutive year. The honor highlights the not-for-profit health system’s customizable total rewards benefits program, employee recognition platform and comprehensive wellness resources for its 2,500 team members.

“This recognition is a credit to our exceptional team, which helps create a thriving working environment as we care for our patients and serve our community,” said Jeremy Stephens, executive vice president and chief human resources officer. “At Tidelands Health, we are proud to support and care for our team members’ overall well-being.”

Tidelands Health is one of only three health systems in South Carolina to earn a place on this year’s list.

In announcing the selections, Becker’s Healthcare said the organizations featured “distinguish themselves as premier employers by supporting their teams in meaningful, holistic ways. From comprehensive wellness initiatives and professional growth opportunities to community engagement and cultures rooted in connection and balance, these workplaces are redefining what it means to thrive in healthcare.”

One of the largest employers in the region, Tidelands Health offers a benefits package that includes competitive pay, paid time off, wellness initiatives and educational opportunities through the McRoy and Jo Skipper Initiative for Learning and Teaching.

Becker’s also cited the health system’s workforce development efforts aimed at serving the growing Grand Strand region. Those initiatives include the Tidelands Health Scholars program, which guarantees jobs to high school graduates who complete the program, and the Tidelands Health HGTC Education Center, which trains future nurses at Tidelands Waccamaw Community Hospital.
