“Hungary and Slovakia raised the issue of Druzhba at the Oil Coordination Group this morning,” the source said.
They noted that representatives of both countries called for the resumption of Russian oil transit through the pipeline and accused Ukraine of refusing to do so despite existing technical capabilities.
“The next meeting of the Oil Coordination Group may take place next week,” the official added.
Most of the discussion during the 4 March meeting, held at the expert level, focused on addressing the consequences of events in Iran and across the Middle East for oil supplies to the EU.
Experts noted that there are currently no problems with the security of supply, but rising prices and possible long-term consequences could pose a serious challenge for the EU.
“For now, EU member states are not planning any coordinated measures in the oil supply sector,” the source said.
