I mean, probably not that important now if Iran has already basically lost this war.

There’s 2 Arleigh Burke destroyers sailing around the Arabian Gulf with Aegis radars, covering much of the same area.

Apparently destroyed the first few days?
But overall air defense capabilities for US and Gulf countries doesn’t seem affected too much, considering the importance of the radar described in news reports.

This is a highly unreliable source. It’s an online news portal according to their LinkedIn and they have 2-10 employees, so i’d consider it fake news till a major reputable news source confirms it. Just some clickbait website trying to generate traffic.

Im sure there are plenty of redundancies in place.

Didn’t Iran destroy five radars including three THAADS?
The US only has 7 batteries with addition of 1 more planned in the future. China would have less to worry about in its neighborhood.Â
How are these not better protected given their cost and strategic importance?
And this admission is only because it’s pretty undeniable. I wonder if any others have been destroyed.
[Appears to be legit](https://www.cnn.com/2026/03/05/middleeast/radar-bases-us-missile-defense-iran-war-intl-invs). But… not sure if it was as critical as headline implies
