Explosions were first heard in Kyiv around 1:30 a.m. “Air defense forces are operating in the capital. Stay in shelters,” said Mayor Vitalii Klitschko said.
A countrywide air raid alert was issued around 3:00 a.m.
Explosions were reported in the Black Sea port city of Odesa, as the Air Force warned of several groups of drones approaching the city.
Neighboring Poland scrambled fighter jets to protect its airspace.
Ukraine President Volodymyr Zelensky posted:
There must be a response from partners to these savage strikes against life….Russia has not abandoned its attempts to destroy Ukraine’s residential and critical infrastructure, and therefore support must continue.
