A trial was held on the 5th at Morioka District Court (Judge Kosaka Shigeyuki) for a 53-year-old public school teacher from Iwate Prefecture who was charged with indecent assault without consent and trespassing for allegedly breaking into a girl's room at a hotel in Chiba Prefecture and committing indecent acts. The prosecution sought a prison sentence of two and a half years, while the defense sought a suspended sentence. The verdict was announced on the 30th.
In their closing argument, the prosecution pointed out, "This was a heinous crime that is unacceptable for a teacher. It was a betrayal of trust and the psychological damage it caused to the children cannot be overlooked." The defense argued, "He is remorseful and the possibility of him reoffending is low."
In his closing statement, the defendant tearfully said, "I am sorry to the victims and their parents. I am remorseful."

The prosecutor only sought two and half year sentence? Should be at least 30 years. He accompanied the students as a teacher and assulted a girl. There’s just no execuse for his action.
Being remoreful and in tears? How does he think the girl feels being attacked by the teacher.
He’s crying because he’s feeling sorry for himself, not the poor child.
At least he didn’t smoke a joint.
I know people who have done longer sentences for marijuana possession than this teacher who raped a pupil.
What the fuck is wrong with the justice system? Is it pedophiles all the way down?
My client did a heinous and unacceptable crime. For this he gets a slap on the wrist. That
Is too harsh, how about you sternly point a finger at him and say don’t do it again. I’m sure he won’t, this has been very scary for him.
They should ask the lawyer if they would accept responsibility and be treated as an accomplice if he reoffends. If he says yes, then maybe he really believes it was a once in a lifetime mistake. If no, then add a lot more time, which they should already do, for wasting time seeking a lighter sentence.
Imagine you’re this poor girl knowing this monster will be free
How does consent even come into it when she is a minor?
