  1. Submission statement:

In an exclusive interview, Qatar’s Prime Minister delivered a blunt message from the Gulf to Iran: the attacks must stop.

Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al Thani described Iran’s strikes on Gulf countries as a “dangerous miscalculation”, warning the escalation risks destabilising the region and sending shockwaves through the global economy.

Betrayal? Imagine how Iran felt when Trump tore up the Nukes Deal! But Qatar is still real chummy with Trump.

He references the global economy as if Iran really has any skin in that game to begin with.

  4. Close the US military bases in your countries

And stop lying to the wealthy foreign nationals that are trying to leave your country in troves

Then maybe you are allowed to call it a betrayal by Iran. Can’t claim neutrality while having active military operation being conducted against Iran from inside your borders.

That is bound to happen if you’re trying to be everyone’s friend in geopolitics.

Qatar has a lot of skeletons in the closet with their relationship with Iran. They have funded a lot of colleges and spread a lot of propaganda.

Interesting that these Gulf states, who host US military bases, feel like they were “betrayed” by Iran but stay quiet about the U.S. and Israel—both of whom started this war knowing full well that the Gulf states would bear the brunt of the retaliation.

Well, I’m sure Qatar does view Iran’s strikes on it as a betrayal, as they have always played a triple game in its relations with Iran, the West, and other Gulf kingdoms. Iran was always lying when it said it would only target the Gulf states if they allowed US offensive operations, and Qatar should have always known that. Iran won’t think of them as neutral actors, not after decades of tying themselves to the West. Iran is not going to care about Gulf state actions to block the United States from its bases. Iran’s strikes targeting 25% of their civilian infrastruce such as airports and gas production, are by design. When Iran targets them, it’s not only about the U.S., but it’s also about Iran’s own long-held regional ambitions and competition with its neighbors. Gulf states should wake up, take tougher action against Iran instead of just accepting punches from Iran.
