What happens in someone’s life that results in them screaming at a *checks note* lollipop lady?

I mean if you’re going to give out camera for abuse you’d be giving to everyone be it lollipop people, bin truck operatives, construction workers, IT techs, call centre staff, bartenders, retail staff, cleaners, teachers, doctors…the list goes on but abuse is just part of having a job these days.

  3. Extra sad to read because all of our lollipop peeps got laid off like three years ago. “Cost cutting”.

Who the fuck shouts at someone whose literal job is to *stop children from getting run over*.

  4. The footage from this would be absolute gold. What kind of person has a problem with someone who helps people cross roads?

Lollipop person here. I’m quite lucky that I don’t get any abuse at my crossing, but I will say though, the number of motorists that seem to be unaware / totally self-centred and try and drive while I’m in the road.

EDIT. Also fuck cyclists. I’m sick of them just sailing through my crossing as if traffic lights and myself don’t apply to them.

  6. This won’t come as a surprise as anyone who uses our road network but doesn’t drive, sadly. I’ve had two drivers get irate at me for cycling in primary position to keep myself safe in the past fortnight. Some people value their convenience over the safety of others. Most drivers are fine but there’s no shortage of inconsiderate gits out there.

Who the fuck’s out there abusing lollipop ladies. Are we truly in the end times?

The primary school over the road had a lollipop lady until she was replaced by a metal sign with a picture of a child on it.

The sign lasted a week or so until a parent reversed over it. Bring back lollipop ladies.

  9. Good.

Personally, I think just not saying “Thank you” should be punished by a fine.

Both my parents are Lollipop people. Thankfully they’ve never had any abuse, most of the people they meet are friendly, but the amount of drivers being idiots is ridiculous. Several times they’ve come home and said they nearly got run over.

Been thinking for a while that this was on the cards. Just today I had a twat in a 4×4 try to go around me while I was actively crossing kids; having footage of the general stupidity of some drivers would really help speed up the reporting process. It’s a great job 99% of the time, but there are more than a few drivers I’ve wanted to smack with the flat end of the lollipop!

  12. Should be an automatic ban from driving for anyone who gets aggressive or violent when they’re in a car. We need fewer dickheads in charge of potentially dangerous machinery. I swear motorists are the most entitled pricks in our society.

wait lollipop ladies are suffering abuse. What fucking pathetic losers would do that!!!!!!

If you’re the type of person to spout off at a lollipop lady who’s making sure kids get to (or home from) school safely, I don’t trust you to drive responsibly, because what’s stopping you going off on everyone else

  15. We’ve created a society that turns a blind eye to public disorders.

People shouldn’t get away with this because they shouldn’t be allowed to. But people tend to just scoff and let them so what they want.

This can be applied to most things. Smoking in no smoking areas, littering, swearing.

I can remember seeing a video similar to police interceptors once where two policemen were struggling to detain a man. The man was dragging a police officer who was unconscious on the floor who was handcuffed to him while fighting the other officer. There were around 15 to 20 adults stood around recording on their phones and watching.

I can understand people not wanting to put themselves in harms way. But people used to do this because it is the right thing to do collectively as a civilized society.

What they need to do about road traffic offenses is to double the amount of points people get for speeding or dangerous driving.

Driving is a privilege, you earn that by getting a license to do so. If you decide you want to throw the highway code out of the window once you have your license you dont deserve to drive.

I’m a bus driver, daily I see people on their mobile phones. I’ve driven very slow and wide past horses only to have some twat behind me honk at me to hurry up.

I drive on average more in a single month than people do in a year. If I can maintain a clean license, and a clean record in my work place driving a minimum of 38 hours a week. There’s no excuse for others.

  16. Just how bad is your life and personality that you’re road raging at a lollipop lady?
