Atria Sweden is acquiring a 25% stake in the Swedish convenience food company Cookin Food Sweden AB. The transaction will be carried out by purchasing shares from Bite Delight AB, which owns Cookin Food Sweden AB.
In addition, Atria holds an option to acquire the remaining shares of Bite Delight AB after 2028.
Cookin Food Sweden AB’s annual net sales amount to approximately 18 million euros. The company operates in the convenience food market, and its main products include salads and sandwiches sold to the Swedish retail trade, foodservice customers and travel service operators. Other products in the range include sushi, products for foodservice kitchens and savory pastries.
“The acquisition is in line with Atria’s Together 2030 strategy, under which the company focuses on growing product categories. Convenience food is among the fastest-growing product categories, and the company aims for rapid growth in its convenience food business. Atria is prepared to seize profitable growth opportunities and will allocate proportionally more investments during the strategy period to growing categories such as convenience food than to other product categories,” said Kai Gyllström, CEO of Atria Plc.
