Hello,

My luggage got taken on a train that departed today (March 9) to Malmo C from Stockholm C. My luggage is pink and was on the luggage rack near the door. The luggage contains medication and contacts that I CANNOT see without. I attached a picture below. If you have stolen it, I have already filed a police report. If you return it to the lost and found I won’t press charges. If you took it by mistake, message me here.

UPDATE 1: A guy messaged me on here saying that he had it but then deleted his account. Not sure what the chances are that he actually had it and then chickened out :/

  1. Just to make sure… Are you sure it wasn’t moved to the overhead shelves/compartments? The luggage looks small, and I would not be surprised to see someone move it in order to make place for larger luggage.

Check with your travelers insurance they usually cover emergency refills for prescription while traveling if your medicine gets destroyed or stolen. If you are a EU citizen you should be able to visit a doctor with just your blue medical card and get a new prescription almost free of charge.

  3. Unrelated but “pressing charges” is not a thing in Sweden. If someone commits a crime it’s not up to you if you want ti let them off the hook or not.

  4. I can’t help with the luggage, but you can buy contact lenses (without needing a prescription) at some pharmacies. Apoteket Gripen near Södervärn is open until 11pm every day and has contact lenses in a bunch of strengths, it’s about 160kr för a 30-pack.

Vem tar ett kort på sin egen väska när man sätter sig på tåget?

Och om det nu var så otroligt viktiga saker i som du inte kan leva utan, varför höll du inte koll på väskan?

Jag tror att OP inte berättar hela sanningen.

This happened to me! I traveled from Stockholm to Lund on 26/12. I had a large suitcase that, when I went to get off the train was not where I had put it. I did try looking for it but the train was leaving for Malmö and I stupidly got off. Not sure what happened but 2 weeks later it was found by SJ and I was able to have it shipped to my home. Hopefully your case will be returned to you!

  7. If someone took it by accident or just took it to search for valuables then it could be that it has been found or handed in at one of the stations along the way.
    Contact SJ support at
    https://www.sj.se/en/customer-service
Or you can check the lost and found-page for the maintenance staffs
    https://lostandfound.sodexo.se/info/sok/
to see if any cleaners found it.

Won’t help right away though but I hope you are ok tonight and perhaps it will be turn up.

Best of luck and I hope it was a mixup/accident. (better chance of retrieval and more hope for my fellow Swedes)

  8. I’m sorry to say that as a Swede I would never put the luggage were I couldn’t see it (if it wasn’t right above me), and absolutely not next to the doors. Unfortunately those luggage racks are not safe, and it’s an terrible shame that that’s the case.
The person who wrote to you was absolutely trolling, what a POS.
