One year after marking its 45th anniversary, Italian auxiliary equipment supplier Moretto S.p.A. is expanding its presence in Italy with a new production area, and abroad, a new mobile showroom that will tour continental Europe through the rest of 2026, and a branch in Mexico.
Located in Massanzago, roughly halfway between Padua and Venice and founded in 1980, Moretto has become a global player in auxiliaries with five production sites, 10 sales branches and a widespread presence in more than 70 countries. Manufacturing is located at four plants in Italy and one in Poland, with expansions in 2015, 2018, 2020 and now 2025.

During a pre-Plast 2026 press tour at its headquarters, Renato Moretto, founder and president, unveiled the newest addition to the plant in Massanzago, covering a total area of 13,000 square meters (approximately 140,000 square feet). At this time, the addition, which is still being integrated and will eventually be home to production of standard products, was empty save for a new mobile showroom. The showroom, which opens in the back to reveal the full suite of Moretto’s technologies, is set to begin touring Europe, starting in Italy, in March, remaining on the road through continental Europe through November.

Growing in Mexico and Morocco
Operating in Mexico since 1998, Moretto officially opened a branch in Querétaro in September 2025. WhenRenato Moretto spoke to Plastics Technology during the tour, he stressed the importance of the market and his company’s new presence there. “We started 6 months ago in Mexico and realize how important this evolving market is,” Moretto said, noting that the country has “huge potential,” and eventually could be home to a production unit. The company also is considering Morocco as a potential location for equipment construction outside of Italy, following the location of some automobile production in the North African country.
Moretto also invests more than 6% of its annual revenue into research and development. Recent outlays include the 2009 acquisition of a Leonardo supercomputer, which it utilizes to speed up simulations, helping the company secure 170 patents. Renato Moretto noted that while patents technically last for 20 years, realistically after two or three years, less scrupulous competitors can often copy a technology. “You only have a three-year advantage,” Moretto said, “because at a certain point, [competitors] will be able to do the same — they will copy you. Recently, we decided to work on the construction complexity of our equipment in order to make it difficult for others to copy us, and this is an important barrier.”
At Plast 2026 (June 9-12; Milan) Moretto will showcase four new or updated products, including the Delphy manual material manifold with RFID control; two new dryer models — X Comb 19 and X Comb 20; the DGM Gravix gravimetric batch blender series; and two recent additions to its Hyper Cut line of granulators: the GR5060 and the GR5084.
