So basically, one country trying to destroy the world economy attacked another country willing to destroy the world economy in order to accelerate destruction of the world economy.

Is this like the Supply-side Jesus of end times?

It wont destroy world economy, oil has stopped before, sure 20% of the world oil been removed will hurt but other areas will come online if there is enough pressure on prices.

  3. > Iran’s Revolutionary Guard vowed to target ‘economic centers and banks’ that it deems linked to US and Israeli interests.

Haven’t they threatened like half the world already ?

Nothing that a rail road across Saudi Arabia cannot peacefully solve. 🤷‍♂️

  6. This is why we need to find ways to reduce reliance on Petrol.
And also live in peace and harmony without fighting everyone

  7. The last oil crisis led to many nations shifting away from oil.

Now with electrification and battery advances, I wonder if this will lead many countries to go full electric on vehicles.

  8. I gotta give Trump credit – I just thought he would destroy our country. But the whole world? Well, that is something.

  9. This is the bigger problem that threatens to destabilize governments & the entire region.

Over 70% to 80% of food imports for Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries pass through the Strait of Hormuz, making the region highly vulnerable to supply disruptions, according to Reuters and Bahrain Food Monitor. While GCC nations have diversified suppliers and built up stocks, a prolonged blockade of this critical waterway threatens immediate shortages and significantly higher food prices.

  10. Unfortunately Trump can’t wait that long, he wants to destroy the global economy NOW

Thats going to be the winning strategy. Patience around the world will wear thin on this war fast, and that will ultimately unravel whatever “strategy” or “plan” they thought they had at the start. It was a very bad idea. There should be no wonder why this hasn’t yet been done in over 40 years until now.

It’s wild how it seems like America, and I assume many other countries, appear to have learned almost nothing from years of drone warfare during Russians ongoing invasion of Ukraine.

  13. Surely someone in the intelligence team somewhere would have thought to work out where drones and rockets are being manufactured in Iran, what the supply chains look like, etc? Surely those would have been primary targets?

    Surely? Anyone?

How do you navigate a war being fought by three groups with leaders who can’t be trusted to be honest for even a single word.

What else are they going to say?

You should place as much worth in the words of the Iranian regime as you do in the words of Trump.

Don’t be the willing but blind mouthpiece of their desperate disinformation campaign.

Or just raise gas and grocery prices. Because that’s what will likely happen more than anything.

  18. Russia comes out immediate winner, China sits back watching everything crumble to come out the later ultimate winner.

Could it have been avoided? definitely.

  19. I think this is just posturing. I think if Trump stops, Iran stops. All this does no good for anyone.

  20. The hole this administration has dug will take 100 years to crawl out of if we make it out of his term alive.

  21. Could we maybe wait until I’m in my 30’s to have another world economy destroying event?

If you are reading this and you voted for this horrendous situation we are in. Fuck. You.

  23. Destroy? No. Recession? Maybe. Will lead to more competent countries investing in more electric infrastructure for sure. No one wants to be held hostage by a terroristic nation and the whims of an 80 year old toddler.

trump started a long war to distract from the Epstein files, and to initiate canceling of the midterm election.

For the life of me I cant understand how trump never won a Nobel peace prize despite all his temper tantrums

Might be for the best because a) the US has to learn we can’t just fuck with every country and b) hopefully push countries towards renewable energy.

  27. With years of sanctions they are already been suffering. I think they want to make others suffer now.

Iranian civilians will get hit hard if it really does get that bad. Nobody wants to admit it but that’s the road this leads down.

That’s the thing, when you have nothing to lose you’re willing to go all the way to crazytown.
