KEARNEY, Neb. — Kearney residents who have long driven to Lincoln or Omaha for certain entertainment options will soon have a new local alternative.
Drop Zone, a new entertainment complex at 101 11th Ave. in Kearney, is set to hold its grand opening April 1. The venue includes 32 tech-powered golf bays, an 18-hole putting course, four pickleball courts, an arcade, and a full food and drink menu.
“Lots of different activities to do, from the pudding course to the hitting bays, to the pickleball courts. Hopefully they’ll take some really good food and have a really cool atmosphere,” said Will Piers of Drop Zone.
Owners say the business was designed for the broader community, with activities intended for all ages and skill levels, whether visitors want to golf, play pickleball or stop in for food and drinks.
“All of the different options, all the TVs to watch, sporting events, the bar, the food, but yeah, just a bunch of different activities added to the list of things to do in Kearney,” Piers said.
Drop Zone’s hours will be 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. Monday through Wednesday, with extended hours Thursday through Saturday until midnight.
The venue is also hiring, with openings posted on its website for bartenders, cooks, bay hosts and other positions.
