I was initially shocked by how much our government depended upon honor and willingness to abide by the checks and balances. Turns out that not one arm of the government can be compelled to follow the law, obey the courts, listen to or represent the people, or even be held to ethical standards. It was all held together on mutual agreement. They can be as corrupt as they want, and there’s nobody to stop them.
