Press Release: International Women’s Day is traditionally a time to reflect on achievements in many areas of society. One of the most important spheres where a fundamental revolution is taking place today is the world of investing. Although the world of money has historically been perceived as a male domain, current data confirms that this stereotype is finally coming to an end. Investing is no longer just for men, but is becoming a key tool for women’s independence.

The share of women among investors is growing

Historically, women have had a harder time managing their wealth due to legislative restrictions, lack of property rights, and lack of education. Even though opportunities are now more equal, women still face specific challenges, such as lower average incomes, more frequent career breaks to care for their families, and the associated less stable cash flow. That is why investing is extremely important for women. It is a practical way to build a financial foundation that gives you the freedom to make decisions without depending on anyone else.

A look at XTB’s statistics confirms that women’s interest in investing is skyrocketing. In the Czech Republic, women have long accounted for approximately 8 to 9% of clients and 7% in Slovakia. Data from 2025 shows that women make up an increasingly large proportion of registered users. Within the entire XTB group, women invested a total of EUR 1,46 billion in 2025. Digitalization is also a significant trend, with 60% of women in the Czech Republic investing via mobile applications and even 71% in Slovakia.

The often-discussed higher level of caution among women is turning into a huge advantage in the investment world. Data suggests that women tend to be more disciplined investors, less susceptible to emotions or shopping manias, and more strictly adhere to their chosen strategy. Instead of risky speculation, they most often choose a passive approach through ETF funds, which offer diversification and stability without the need to monitor the markets on a daily basis. The most popular instruments include funds that copy the S&P 500 index, but stocks of companies such as Nvidia also appear in their portfolios. Apple or Tesla and gold or bitcoin funds.

The biggest barrier for women is often not a lack of capital, but a lack of confidence and a feeling that investing is too complicated. However, investing is not an exam that requires years of preparation, it is important to start and learn as you go.
