    It should be noted , Taiwan has to compete under the name “Chinese Taipei” lest the feelings of the Chinese govt be hurt.

    Why the need to make the game political, especially when you are visiting another country? People are there for football, not political statements.

    Meanwhile, in Korea and Japan they still call it Taiwan and no one cares and here we are dancing around being told to call it Chinese Taipei hahaha why do we let China tell us what to do.

    It wasn’t until the 1970’s that the Chinese mainland was acknowledged in the way that it is now. Prior to that time Taiwan was fully known and legitimised by world governments.

    But then cheap labour and goods came from there and slowly international recognition changed under social pressure from the CCP.
