U.S. President Donald Trump said Washington plans to strike Iran “very hard over the next week” as U.S. and Israeli attacks on the country enter their third week.
Speaking to Fox Radio News on Friday, Trump said the U.S. side has already badly damaged Iran, and that it would take years for the country to rebuild.
Praising the military operation as being “ahead of schedule,” Trump claimed to have knocked out close to 90 percent of Iran’s missiles.
Though he did not provide a specific timeline for the operation, Trump said the war with Iran would be over when he feels it in his bones.
On the possibility of the U.S. Navy escorting tankers through the strategic Strait of Hormuz following Iranian strikes on commercial vessels that have pushed up oil prices, Trump said the United States would do so if needed.
