Have you ever done this mistake personally?

Will the blue car driver receive a fine for this offence/mistake?

  1. Hopefully they don’t run over someone at the crosswalk, when they make an illegal but necessary left turn.

  2. Putting myself out there to say I did this once, it was an unfamiliar area to me (still in Brisbane), rainy and hard to see, at like 11pm. Literally nothing came of it.

  3. Went through one in the centre of Parramatta a few years ago (by mistake). Felt very sheepish and got stuck there for about 5 min in peak hour.

No fine though, so good luck!

Brisbane Transport has switched to petrol station wagons in response to the diesel price spikes.

I don’t believe there are any fines unless it was quite clear that it was deliberate (i.e. you decided to skip the morning traffic by driving down half the busway).

    Been there done that

Sure it was the 1990s and the driver was on acid…

    Good times!

I think I may have done this or was close to doing this.
I think I was in a bus lane, but I was on a road where I could just move over to the regular lane.

If I was on that bus only road, I would be freaking the fuck out though XD

  8. Brisbane is so poorly designed that I can’t rightly blame anyone for doing this. I’ve neary done so a few times. The way Brisbane’s street turn-offs and one-way cut-offs thst need you to get two but NOT three lanes over within 50 meters in bumper traffic is inexcusable. If you arent going to make a walkable city, at least make it driveable!

Once shortly after moving to Brisbane I accidentally drove into a bus tunnel late at night in the rain. It was mortifying and I’ve never done it again.

  10. I’ve seen the bus lane occupied by a car and a bus turned on and kept honking like they gave a damn

  11. I did the same when I was first driving. I was right in the ass of the bus and didn’t see the sign on the left. No fine.

Isn’t the law that you are allowed to drive in one for 100 metres maximum?

  13. Yeah, this is an easy mistake for people unfamiliar with the area to make… normally I do t think people get fined, unless they do it frequently

  14. I drove straight onto the pedestrian area on Queen st once because google maps told me to. Mistakes happen

  15. I purposefully walked through a busway tunnel once. In my defence, it was pissing down rain and the buses had stopped for the night. An announcement over the PA told me off when I got to the other side. Good times.
