According to councilor Jan Mencwel, who was the first to publicize the matter in May 2025, the Warsaw Council unanimously adopted the application for the Geralt Oak to become a natural monument and – as a result – become an even more valuable attraction of Warsaw’s Praga.
The tree won this honor not only because of its impressive size – 22 meters high and 4 meters in circumference – but also because of its legendary appearance in The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt. The Hanged Man’s Tree, which we see at the first entrance to Velen, was inspired by the “Geralt Oak”.
