1. Carroll’s take is not humorous.
2. Trump didn’t start this war. We have been in a shots-fired engagement with Iran and its proxies for a very long time. Trump just decided to end it.
3. The problem with maritime security due to Iran’s actions in the Strait of Hormuz existed before Operation Epic Fury.
4. We haven’t lost a sailor to combat in this operation.

More and more people are saying with increasing levels of concern that Trump may have just started World War 3 with this attack on Iran. It’s already spiraled into a regional conflict and it won’t take much to make things go global. (For example, I betcha the moment Trump commits fully to a ground invasion and moves troops into the theater, China will take advantage of the American deployment of forces and seize Taiwan.)
