  1. The underlying principle of the Republican Party, and even more so for this administration is this: “If you are able to do something to someone, then you are entitled to, period.” (Originally quoted from Scyllith, the Goddess of Light, Beauty, and Cruelty from The Gods Are Bastards)

They prevent people from getting healthcare because they enjoy the suffering.

I’m not worried about a special military meal before going into combat. I’m concerned far more about the price to go into combat. Weapons, missiles, ships, planes, troops. All massive amounts of unnecessary spending. But no to healthcare for Americans.

    That’s the infuriating part.

  3. What so sad is that a large portion of the 82 million are MAGAts. As long as so many people in our country are such idiots, people like Trump and Hegseth can get away with whatever they want to.

  4. This narrative is entirely missing the point. The steak/lobster is a traditional pre-war meal for troops before being deployed. It’s a sort of “last tour of pleasures” before the horrors of war.

And Hesgeth did this while Trump was saying there never was a war, but the war was over.

The point is the lack of a plan for disrupting the global economy by attacking Iran.

  5. It’s not about the steak and lobster, it’s about Pete not being deserving of any.

Diamond Pete Hegseth gets more than just lobster on the public dime. Trump, Hegseth others in the administration, and their corporate allies are using public funds to enrich themselves and they get away with it, because they use immigrants, trans, Muslims, or DEI as scapegoats for the cause of all the problems in America that enough voters don’t care about their mass corruption.

The steak and lobster is a tradition, troops get it before deployment. The problem is Hegseth served it while Trump was publicly saying the war was already won.

  8. It’s the great rule from Congress of use it or lose it. So if you don’t spend it then you get less the next year. Why is this just known now?

A huge part of this that most people are ignorantly of, is historically a lot of federal agency are extremely frugal with money and act in that way so the public has confidence in them being good stewards of their tax dollars. Then decade after decade republicans bitch about wasteful spending and every agency has to get even more stingy and tighten their budgets even further. Slash benefits, understaff offices, contract out everything. Then when republicans are in charge they do shit like this without fail.

  10. Lazy outrage bait of two completely different and unrelated policies. What else is new.

  11. So the greatest nation on Earth cannot provide 82 million people in its population with affordable healthcare.

And yet second-rate states like Denmark, Sweden, Finland, the UK and Brazil are managing to offer free or largely free healthcare to all citizens.

    How is this possible?

  12. The original article is the biggest piece of misleading bullshit I’ve seen on the internet in some time. While no doubt the office of the Secretary of Defense bought pricy food items, its not like Hegseth personally signed off on the purchases. Every major command has a budget for VIP food and events. Its not particularly out of the ordinary. Ref: I was on a 3-star USMC staff and there were fancy events several times per year

The DOD has never passed an audit.Particularly, the food supply chain entity has had several instances of fraud in just the last decade alone.

Can anyone clarify something for me. I have heard two different things: One was that this lobster and crab was for him and his cohorts at the pentagon and the other was that this was lobster and crab for the deployed military members. I’m just trying to figure out which one it was

  15. That is roughly *$500 per doughnut run*, are they studded with non-leaf gold or soaked in glenfiddich??

  16. These meals for our troops has happened under every other administration and now you guys have a problem with it?

I have a shitty HDHP plan and no money to even go to the doctor for a checkup and there’s a couple of things I’m worried about for sure.

  18. 77 million people voted for this. I don’t think I’ll ever be able to wrap my head around that
