    (Submission Statement)

Majed bin Mohammed Al Ansari, spokesperson of Qatar’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs said that since 2023 they have been warning the world about the regional crisis surrounding Iran and its global repercussions.

“This is exactly what we have been saying from Day 1. This is the biggest ‘I told you so’ in the history of I told you so’s in the world. We have said from Day 1, left unchecked, the escalation that started in 2023, would lead to a regional war.

“What we are seeing right now is a regional war, that can still be contained. But the trajectory we are going through right now is a very dangerous trajectory for the region and we keep warning that again, this left unchecked and conflict moved from negotiations rooms to battlefields will lead to even more catastrophic results for the people in the region.”

Al Ansari said that getting to the negotiating table quickly and stopping attacks would benefit the peoples of the region and international peace and security, and would enhance global economic stability.

Hasn’t qatar been financing Hamas for a long time now? Isn’t this a tad hypocritical

Funny hearing that from the same country showing support to iran and its proxies

  4. This headline promises a smoking gun but doesn’t really deliver. It leans on vague claims about “warnings” and “ignored advice” without laying out what was actually said, when it was said, to whom, or any verifiable documentation. No specifics, no accountability, no evidence trail… Save you a click

The most tragic thing about this whole criminal war is that if Trump just kept Obama’s non-proliferation deal and was going “LALALA can’t hear you!” every time Netanyahu was goading him to bomb Iran, the country would likely be a liberal democracy by now.
The only inescapable factor in the causes of the conflict is friction in the overlapping spheres of influence between Israel and Iran which is something Israel could be easily expected to handle the same way every other country in a similar situation does without needing to bomb their rivals into the stone age. Everything else is pretty much jingoist propaganda acting as a self-fulfilling prophecy by means of US meddling.
The only way to see this war as necessary is to treat Israel as a uniquely priviledged state that can’t ever be expected to compromise on its security concerns. If international affairs worked like that for everyone, the world would be a nuclear wasteland by now.

It was likely to happen since October 7th. Hezbollah being taken out and Syria changing government meant it was easier for Israel to take on Iran.
