Not really a surprise when the opposition doesn’t know how to read a room, and the other credible nationwide alternative imploded. With the passage of bills that effectively expand government police powers, I wouldn’t be surprised if this trend deepens, resulting in a US-style situation. The LPC power brokers and strategists knew how to play the long game. Now we really have no choice but to see where this goes.
