Why should they help? It’s not their war. The U.S. treats its allies terribly, it threatens them, puts tariffs on them, and even talks about taking their land. Just a day or two ago they literally took South Korea’s defensive THAAD systems to ship them to the Middle East, leaving them defenseless.

1. This is just blackmail. NATO is a defensive treaty. It’s not meant to be invoked by the aggressor in a conflict. It has no relevance here.
2. Trump claims that the Strait is now ‘safe’ but then why won’t he deploy the US Navy, which is bigger than all the allies combined? What he won’t say is that it’s because he’s afraid of casualties and wants the allies to take on the dangers. Can’t have photos of American sialors sent home in body bags and American warships being sunk by Iranian missiles.
3. The allies are getting nothing in return for this. They have no say over this war and area already suffering the economic consequences. At the very least Trump has to involve them his war plans and also provide a solid exit strategy for a quick end to this war.
