Clusit report: cyber attacks growing sharply by 42% in 2025 to 5265 cases, Italy accounts for 10% of global incidents, hacktivism represents the greatest burden

The most distinctive feature of the Italian panorama is the enormous weight ofhacktivism – attacks motivated by ideological or geopolitical rather than economic reasons: 38.7% of the total, with a growth of 145% compared to 2024, and as many as 64% of all activist incidents recorded worldwide. The phenomenon is directly linked to conflicts ongoing international events
