Because if it’s nothing – which, of course, it is – then this is a meaningless PR statement.
Actually, worse than nothing. Israel will obliterate southern Lebanon, Hezbollah will fire a few missiles back, and the US’ vassals will all line up to declare “Israel has the right to defend itself.”
