The President of the Bosniak World Congress, Mustafa Ceric, has reacted through a post on Facebook regarding the organization of the return of several citizens of Bosnia and Herzegovina from Riyadh to Pristina, an operation that according to him was carried out by Kosovo institutions.

In his reaction, Ceric emphasizes that the flight with 14 citizens of Bosnia and Herzegovina on board was not only a humanitarian operation, but also a political and moral message about how states and international relations function.

According to him, the operation was not organized by the country of which those persons are citizens, but by Kosovo, a state that Bosnia and Herzegovina has not yet officially recognized due to internal political blockades.

“This fact carries symbolism that is impossible to ignore. A country that Bosnia and Herzegovina still does not formally recognize has shown what is most valued in international relations: the ability to act quickly, responsibly and in the interest of the people,” he wrote.

According to Ceric, while the institutions of Bosnia and Herzegovina were sending requests and waiting for solutions, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Diaspora of Kosovo, together with the country’s diplomatic network, organized the return operation of citizens, coordinating the process also through the embassy in Zagreb.

He emphasized that in bureaucratic language this process is called repatriation, while in political language it means a functional state.

In his post, Ceric also highlighted the historical ties between Bosniaks and Albanians, saying that the relationship between the two peoples is older than today’s political calculations.

“Throughout history, our nations have often stood on the same side – on the side of those who needed to defend their right to identity, dignity and freedom,” he wrote.

According to him, the event from Pristina goes beyond the rescue operation itself and is a reminder that historical ties between nations often speak louder than political statements.

Ceric also stressed that this episode should serve as a moment of reflection for Bosnia and Herzegovina, adding that a state that cannot react quickly when its citizens are in difficulty faces serious problems with institutional functioning.

“In this case, Pristina filled that void,” he wrote, adding that Kosovo has demonstrated functional institutions and a political culture that understands the state’s responsibility towards its citizens, even when those citizens are not its own.

At the end of the reaction, Ceric underlined that above all political analyses remains the human fact that 14 families in Bosnia and Herzegovina today know that their relatives were not left alone.

According to him, the flight from Riyadh to Pristina will be remembered not only as a diplomatic operation, but as an example of solidarity in the region./Telegraph.
